CROSSED THE FINISH LINE

I remember the cheerleaders chanting when the game was almost over, "It's All Over! It's All Over!"
Today after I finished my 35th radiation treatment I got a certificate which says, "YOU DID IT" Awarded to J "Leon" Foote. Has completed the prescribed course of Radiation Theraphy with the highest degree of courage, determination, and good nature. We appreciate the confidence placed in us and the opportunity to serve you." Sealed by RC cancer center 6/30/11.

I go back on July 12 for a PSA test and answer more questions as I have been doing ever week. Then every 6 months another PSA test. If every thing worked as it should I should be cancer free by now. THAT IS ALL IN GOD'S HANDS ANYWAY.

I get tired in the afternoons but am still going strong, PLEASE keep praying. Back in the Saddle Again this week end. (THANK THE LORD)

I still could work in two REVIVAL MEETING this Fall and have TOO MUCH open time next Spring. E-Mail me about an OLD TIME REVIVAL BY AN OLD TIME PREACHER IN YOUR CHURCH.

SO MANY HAVE ASKED

June 3, 2011

So many have asked about my treaments so I will give an up-date.

Today I finished my 16th. radiation treatment and have 19 to go. It is get up at 6:45 am each morning and leave for Conyers, GA (about 30 minute drive) lay on the table while a machine shoots 5 shots of radiation into me. That is Mon. - Fri. I have Sat. and Sun. off. My last treatment will be June 30 (looking for that day). The first of July I join my son John for VBS in Tifton, GA (Looking for that day too!) Then one day in my home church before heading to PA for VBS programs and Deaf camp in PA.

So far, I do not have a place to preach this Sunday but will be preaching both AM and PM on the 12th.
Praying for the last two Sundays in June for God to open a door of service.

I still have the last week of August and the first two week of Sept. open for OLE TIME REVIVAL. Call me about a meeting in your church. 770-337-0298

MEDICAL REPORT, SAWDUST TRAIL

WELL - There are 2 down and 33 to go!

Today I had my second round of radiation. I have 33 treatments to go. Except for Sat. and Sun. it will be at 8:15 each morning until the last of June. Then it is the VBS trail of the Sawdust Trail. Grandson Joshua will take my place in June.

I will preach, Lord Willing, this Sunday at McDonough Baptist Tabernacle and then next Tuesday Joel, Barry and I will drive to South GA where I will have the Graduation sermon for Grace Christian School, with my friend Pastor Ronnie Vice. At present my next Scheduled Sunday is the second Sunday of June.(Pray that the open weeks will be filled as I want to preach.)

I feel backslidden if I am not preaching every night in Evangelism.

Please pray for my schedule for 2012 as I have open time for Ole Time Revivals from Feb. through May. GOD IS ABLE.

Many churches have been sending gifts that have helped pay the bills since I am not traveling and preaching. I feel like I am collecting unemployment. GOD IS SO GOOD.

ITS SPRINGTIME IN GEORGIA, SEED PLANTING TIME

On Wednesday, (April 27th) I went to the Georgia Urology Surgery Center, and had 98 seeds planted in my Prostate...
The surgery was not bad. He said 20 seconds and you will be asleep. He did not know how fast I am, it only took 3 seconds! The worst part was getting ready.
Magnesium Citrate taste terrible and Fleet is no fun.
Today (Thursday) I went for a Post Op CT scan and every thing is FINE. I have one more appintment on May 10 and then began 7 weeks of Radiation, ending the last of June. I will miss VBS in June, but Grandson Joshua (Who graduates from Bible College this month) will take my place. THEN in July I get back on the SAWDUST TRAIL.

In April, May, and June I have had to stay close by and have not been able to travel in Evangelism. I do very much appreciate the churches in the area who have had me for a Sunday. Ronnie Rice, Gary Blalock, Don Fellows. And scheduled for a Sunday in May: Rick Spence, Randy Shaylor and James West. I still need Sundays May22, and 29 and also June 5, 19 and 26. Please pray that these will be filled. (All Wednesdays are still available for Brenda to sing and me to preach.) ALSO A BIG SHOUT OUT AND THANKS TO THE MANY FRIENDS WHO HAVE SENT AN OFFERING AS AN EVANGELIST WHO IS NOT OUT PREACHING REVIVALS HAS NO LOVE OFFERING. Some have sent once and again.
On Wednesday prayers went up to Heaven for this ole 77 year old preacher AND GOD STILL ANSWERS PRAYER, I sit here as proof of that!

After Deaf Camp in August, I get back on the SAWDUST TRAIL and have the last week of August open for a BACK TO SCHOOL REVIVAL. Then 2 weeks open in September, and could have meetings the first two weeks of November.

Open time that needs to be filled for ole time revivals in the spring and Fall of 2012. Brenda and I will be on the trail of souls. She will be singing and I will be putting 59 years of preaching in a week for you. E-mail me today about having a meeting in your church.

FEBRUARY ON THE SAWDUST TRAIL

Medical Report - THE DYE IS CAST

Many of you have called or e-mailed about my cancer, so here is what is happening....Feb. 8 I will go to the Rockdale Hospital for a Cat scan, bone scan and a CT scan. Today I had another PSA test and will know the results of that on Friday. I will return from Alaska on March 29 and will have the seed implant the first week in April. Then there is a 3 week wait and began 6 weeks of radiation. I am not looking forward to it but feel that is what the Lord would have me to do. PRAYER NEEDED.

CAMP MEETING REPORT

This year was one of the best, if not the best that we have ever had. In the two week I was in 49 meetings (counting the 3 Sundays) and we saw 7 salvation decisions and one young man called to preach. Plans are being made for 2012 for even greater Blessings.

REVIVAL MEETINGS REPORT

Lord Willing, I leave for Alaska on the 17th of this month. Bro. and Sister Ronnie Vice will join me for the first two weeks and Joel and Melissa Berkheimer Gospel singers, will be joining me at a later date. I will be there for 5 Revival Meetings and stay for one Sunday . I will be with Doug Farret, Ben Burtch, Stan Tucker, Walter Ballard, Buddy Miller and one day with Wes Hudson. PRAYER APPRECIATED

FUTURE... Lord Willing

I have had to cancel some meeting in April and Leave May open because of the treatments that I will be taking. John is in charge of the VBS schedule I plan to work with him in VBS this Summer and also with David in Deaf Camp. This Fall looks good. I do have open time the 3rd. week of Sept and open time in Nov. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE AN OLD TIME REVIVAL. Brenda will be with me in these meetings.

HAVE A GOD BLESSED NEW YEAR

PHYSICAL REPORT
Yes I do have cancer (no one likes that word).
Yesterday my family doctor (Christian) and my wife ganged up on me. The Oncologist that I went to wants me to have the seeds and radiation (Prostate cancer). I was thinking I only wanted the seeds, but yesterday my doctor told me he wants me to have the seeds and radiation and would you believe that my wife agreeded with him and even my son Joel said that he agreed.
So I will set a time to meet with a Radiation Oncologist after the Camp Meeting and plan to have the proceedure done in April. It will take 7 weeks of radiation 5 days a week. There goes my April meetings. I will be able to preach on Sundays here in the area but not travel. No meetings in May also. I DID NOT REALIZE THAT I HAD SO MANY FRIENDS. MANY PHONE CALLS AND E-MAILS ASKING ABOUT MY HEALTH. Thanks and please keep the prayers going up.

FINANCIAL REPORT
We have 7 churches and 2 individuals who support us each month as missionaries. Webster defines a missionary as one who is sent out to do religious work. We are sent out to America to reach the lost and Revive churches. I say thanks to our supporters and may their tribe increase.

VAN REPORT
The Van has over 80 thousand miles on it and is still going great. There are 9 churches that send half a payment once a year, two of those send a full payment and one church sends half a payment each month.
A Friend in Ohio sent a large sum for the Van Fund that was a BIG help. THANKS. FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS IT WOULD HELP IF 2 MORE CHURCHES WOULD TAKE A HALF PAYMENT ONCE A YEAR.

Looking to the Future
LORD WILLING This Sunday I will be preaching in Eden, NY, on Sunday morning with Pastor Art Kohl and Sunday evening in Brocton, NY, with Pastor Gary Nutt. THEN... Monday begins the "OLD FASHIONED SOUTHERN CAMP MEETING IN THE NORTH." Monday - Friday we will have 4 services a day from Eden to Shinglehouse, PA, back to Wattsburg, PA, then Mayville, NY, then ending in Erie, PA.
The Sunday following I will be with my friend Bob Kern in Aliquippa, PA, all day.
NEXT: Camp Meeting in Certral PA with Greg Harven, Denny Mallonee, Darren McClintock, Charlie Hicks and John Leatherman.
This tour will end in Markleton, PA, where I will be all day with a GREAT FRIEND Pastor Doug Baker and the good people at The Old Bethel Church.
HOME TO PREPARE TO WORK ON THE CANCER THEN OFF TO ALASKA FOR 2 MONTHS.

EIGHT WEEKS ON THE SAWDUST TRAIL
Just returned from 8 good weeks on the ole Sawdust Trail. Services in 9 churches and one Christian school,that kept Brenda and me busy. Great meetings with some Great Men of God. In NY with Pastors Paul Allen and Gary Nutt in PA with more of God's Good Men; John Traxler, Fred Helmick, Dave Foote (I seem to know him from somewhere), Charlie Hicks, Mike Exkra, Trevor Brubaker, Audy Seymour (School) and last but not least Tim Shivler. YOUR PRAYERS WERE APPRECIATED...

77 AND STILL GOING...
I tried to turn that 77 around but it still said the same. While in meeting with Bro. Charlie Hicks in Shade Gap,PA, My body turned 77. The good people of that Church and that area (near where I pastored for 25 years) had a party for me after the service on Friday night. Many, MANY, old friends. I do appreciate them and the many gifts given to me. I like those pictures of the presidents. Also on this trip Brenda turned 70 and the kind folks of Mt. Valley Bible Church had a meal and a beautiful Birthday cake for her (we finished the cake in NC and my son John's).

Just returned from a "whirl wind" trip to Alaska and back. I think my Grandson Bryan and I set a new record from Palmer Alaska to my house in less than six days. This was just after Brenda and I returned from meetings in PA where we saw God's Good Blessings. One young lady came to be saved before I could start the invitation, another teen pushed his way out to come and get saved and a man in his 60s almost ran down the isle to get saved. GOD IS ANSWERING YOUR PRAYERS FOR US.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

May God's Richest Blessings be on you and your family in 2010
God crowned the old year with His Blessings on the Foote Evangelistic Team. From Camp Meeting to Alaska meetings to Spring Revivals to a Summer packed with VBS programs to Fall Revivals and Snowed out Christmas Programs...God's Good Blessings were upon us.
LOOKING AHEAD. The Spring and Fall schedules are skinny, but the Summer is Filled with VBS programs and Deaf Camp. Prayer is needed to fill the holes in my schedule.
VAN REPORT. The Van is running great, taking us over the miles to meetings both North and South. A BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE A PART IN KEEPING US ON THE ROAD. One Church send a half payment each month and some send half payment once a year. Some sent a one time payment. To be honest we could use two more churches to send a half payment once a year. Or if 10 churches would put us in theirmissionary budget for 30 0r 50 dollars a month it would keep the van rolling after souls and REVIVAL. One thing YOU can do for us is to PRAY THAT GOD WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPLY OUR NEEDS

MID-SUMMER REPORT

July 3, 2009

July is here already, Here is our Mid-Summer report.
OFF WITH A BANG......
Great VBS in Tyrone with the good folks at Bible Baptist Church. I think we started with 16 kids on Sunday and counting parents we ended with 110 on Friday. many salvation decisions.
Then a Great VBS with an old oops... OLE friend in Roseville, PA, Pastor Ray Umstead. Some more saved.....
NEXT John, Monica, Abigail and I attended the BYC reunion (met many ole campers and they have gotten old too.....)
NEXT VBS with Pastor Charlie Hicks in Shade Gap,PA. We went from 0 kids to 15 with about 5 saved...Amen
The Schedule was changed from VBS to Ole Time Revival in Brocton, NY with Pastor Gary Nutt... We had a very good meeting with Christians making decisions.
NOW.. Off to Tifton, Ga to be with my Friend, Ronnie Vice for our annual VBS meeting with him and the good people at Grace Baptist Church.

LOOK OUT VOLCANO, HERE COMES THE FOOTE EVANGELISTIC TEAM... TO ALASKA...

This Thursday my Grandson, Bryan, and I will fly the friendly skies to Alaska. We began with an old fashioned 2 week meeting with Pastor Ferrett in Big Lake AK. Then we will have one week meetings with Pastors Ron Hamman, Stan Tucker, Walter Ballard, Buddy Miller, and Dan Jeffery. Also a one day meeting with Pastor Wes Hudson. Pastor Ronnie and Mrs. Vice will join us for two of the weeks.

PLEASE HELP US PRAY FOR OLD TIME REVIVAL IN THE CHURCHES WHERE WE WILL BE PREACHING THE GOSPEL.

Bryan and I just returned from the Old Fashioned Southern Camp Meeting in the North. Counting a Wed. and 3 Sundays we were in 50 services in 2 and 1/2 weeks. God blessed with souls saved and some getting right with the Lord. AND CHURCHES REVIVED. Some said and I agree this was the best year ever...

This Spring and Summer is filled, but we have OPEN TIME THIS FALL IN SEPT., OCT, AND NOV. Contact me about Ole Time Revival in Your Church.

It is hard to believe that 2008 is gone, many opportunities lost, many blessings received. Thank God for what and how He used our team in 08.

I pray that God will give you many opportunities and many blessings in '09.

VAN REPORT

The new van is a blessing from God and many of you. It is still running great, I am amazed at all the gadgets it has on it, still learning how to use all of them.

Some gave a one time gift and that has helped to make the payments on time. One church gives a half payment each month and some a half payment once a year ($300) and one a full payment once a year. That is a BIG help. Ten churches have commited to a payment or half, we could use two more churches to make a half payment one time each year, if the Lord should lead it would be a blessing and help to our ministry.

Open Time in 2009

After our trip to PA, Bryan and I will be in Alaska for all of February and March and part of April.

The third week of April is open for ole time revival.

The Summer VBS programs look good. John, Monica and Abby (age 4 then), will be with me for Puppets, clowns, etc. This year I will be teaching many of the Parables Jesus taught.

I do have a couple of weeks open for VBS June 7-12 and June 28 - July 2 or 3 (this one should be in PA).

Question: Why should a church use an evangelist?

Answer: Many churches today are using a fellow pastor or friend to conduct evangelistic meetings once or twice a year. They are haveing good meetings hearings some of the Pastor's best sermons. It usually stirs the chruch and creates a lot of excitement.
Then why have an evangelist?
The Holy Spirit had the Apostle Paul write that God gave a gift to the church called Evangelist, for the perfecting of the saints. An Evangelist is different from a Pastor. His gifts and calling are different. I have read of the old Evangelist of the 18th and 19th centuries (Finney, Moody, Sunday and others). I met some of the 20th century Evangelists (Jones, Rice, Br. Maze, Harvey Springer, Kelly, Oliver Greene and others).
I began Evangelism in the 1950s and experienced first had the difference. The Evangelist comes to the church with a different message to stirr and convict of Sin and Unrighteousness on the part of the church members resulting in souls being saved. Strong preaching that produces results.
Moody said that a good sermon makes some mad and some glad.
Billy Sunday was hated and lied about because of his preaching.
Sam Jones was attacted on the street by the mayor of a city because of what he preached.
WHY NO REVIVAL TODAY?
Maybe it is because we are not using the calling of an Evangelist.
THATS HOW OLE DOC SEES IT.

There are many good, outstanding evangelist today you can use to help bring Revival to you church.
TO NAME A FEW: Donnie Pollard, Hal Webb, Barry Webb, David Maynard, Tom Farrell, Jerry Sivnksty and his son Scott, Bud Lyles, Bennett Collins, David Smallwood, Bill Hall, and many more. Did I forget to mention Leon Foote?

DEAF CAMP REPORT

The devil fought, but God gave the victory. One worker who grew up coming to camp said that this was one of the best camps ever. In a combined deaf and hearing class Bro. John Leatherman brought a message on asking God why and it was right on target, just what deaf and hearing needed.
We now have a Deaf Camp Advisory Board: Pastors Charlie Hicks, John Leatherman and Greg Harven. They will be a great help.
Aug. 16-21 will be the dates for 2008 at Camp Mantowagon. Tell the deaf, and maybe your chruch or SS or Youth Group can sponsor a deaf for next year. Some could not come this year (no money). Set aside $125 to help a deaf to come to PA.

We just closed our 37th. year of Deaf Camp in PA. The devil fought, but God gave us one of the best of the 37 years.

We included the hearing this year and it was a big blessing to all who attended.
